Elders and iPhone 6s?

Hello.

Is it OK for old people (elders like retired people) use iPhones for old fashion phone communications, Internet, pictures, etc. and easy to use (computer newbies)? I assume iOS can customize visual (bigger DPIs) and stuff?

Thank you in advance. 🙂

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.2, 13.3" (9,2/MD102ll/A)

I'd recommend taking the people in question to an Apple Store or a celluar phone store and having them decide for themselves. "Elders" are a far from homegenous group. Like middle aged folks and young folks, some of them have technical skills and enjoy using them, others don't. I would say that, if all the person in question wants to do is make phone calls and you're trying to convince them to buy a smart phone because you think it would be a good thing, don't. Let them get basic phone and then talk them into an iPad Mini if you really think they need it.

Age isn't relevant. What matters is the ability and willingness to learn new technology and devices. That has no age limit. When an 'elderly' person claims that it's just too hard, and it's because they are old, that's a cop out. It's an excuse. I know people older than me that are very savvy when learning new technology, and I know people in their 20s that can't grasp new technology.

It's not an age issue. It's an intelligence and/or willingness issue.

And some people just don't want to. My brother (67) would still be using the 10 (?) year old Nokia flip phone that still said "Cingular" on it if it hadn't been damaged in a flood two years ago (he still has it sitting in rice). He's very smart but just isn't interested. He doens't have a computer or internet acess at home. Amusingly, when we traveled a bit together, he discoverd the value of being able to look up things on the "magic box". So, he bought his girlfriend an iPhone.
