Q: Itv Mirror not working from ipad 3 after upgrade

I upgraded devices a few months ago and now my mirroring function quit working on my ipad 3.  When I tried to adjust my apple tv settings, I now have at least the  airplay function showing up in the control center on the ipad 3,-  but now it doesn't show up on my iphone 5s.  Hours of tinkering, examining apple troubleshooting docs and youtube fix-it yourself videos, making sure my icloud addresses are all mirrored on the devices. I noticed a lot of people saying they had similar problems after the upgrade three months ago. Advice given, but no remarks indicating the recommendations helped to fix the problem. Is this still a universal problem that hasn't been fixed (endless rabbit hole?).

    Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.

     

    1. Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
    2. Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
    3. Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    4. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    5. Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    6. Restart your mobile device.
