How to offer Time Capsule over VPN for Time Machine backups?

I'm looking to let users access a Time Capsule via WAN external fixed IP. VPN is set up and working on Server 4 and Yosemite

I'm not clear on a couple of issues - do I have to enable file sharing in Server? Does setting up Server to offer Time Machine backups mean I don't have to open the Time Capsule to the WAN through the Time Capsule's own settings?

Mac mini, OS X Server, null

Hi Linc

Just to be more clear about what I'm hoping to do - I have a server connected to the time capsule with wired ethernet - the VPN is being handled by the same server.

If I understand what your saying - even if the server has a share point set, it will only be available for mounting to local (i.e. Bonjour) clients? hence I need something that can extend Bonjour through the VPN tunnel?
