SMS not sending text message forwarding

I have a iphone 6 and the latest version of my macbook pro, however my SMS will not send through my macbook.

I would write a message, and it will take a while to send and end up coming up as "Not delivered" with the red exclamation.

I tried everything, my iphone and mac are both signed onto the same icloud account, and using the same wifi. I have connected

my macbook pro with my iphone with the text messaging forwarding code as well, and it still wont send my messages from my macbook.
