Mail autocomplete still brings up deleted "previous recipient" list addresses

I was having the same problem, and found that I had duplicate Contact Cards for the same person. If you remove someone's old address from PREVIOUS RECIPIENTS LIST, and it still auto-fills the old address when you type in their name:

- type in their name in the "TO:" section of an email

- select the incorrect address

- click on the arrow next to their name to get a drop down menu

- click on SHOW CONTACT CARD

- click OPEN WITH CONTACTS

- edit the contact card and remove incorrect address

To remove an email address from the auto-complete list in Mac OS X Mail:

• Start typing the recipient's address or name in a new message.
• Select the desired address from the auto-complete list as if you'd compose an email to them.
• Click the small down arrow in the recipient.
• Select Remove from Previous Recipients List from the menu.

I have the same issue. I have cleared out the Previous Recipients List. I have cleared the email address from my Apple Address book. I have even added the undesired email address to a blank email to select "Remove Address"

The email address still appears as an auto-fill option.

Are they in your Contacts database?
