Q: Mac Pro did update, now i am unable to log into my account so cannot get to any of my files. Any advice greatly appreciated

My Macbook Pro did an auto update and now i cannot access my user account!! I therefore cannot access any of my folders and files.

 

Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi. I'll see if I can Help. Did you happen to see what it was updating? Did you shut it down just after the update. Most updates, depending on size take a few minutes to install.If you stop it by shutting down or something, it can make your OS unstable. There are a couple of things you could do. If you have the install dvd, you could boot to it and repair the drive in disk utilities and do permissions.Or you could start in safeboot by holding down the shift key on start up, then if you have internet access use software update to download and install any updates. Let me know.
