The latest version of quicktime is installed in Yosemite by default, so the problem mustn't come from there.
users have previously been able to solve this problem. Check: A necessary data reference could not be resolved

Jan 22, 2015 2:51 PM in response to Japibby fndoye69,You're right. I already have it. The thread you provided says to download iPhoto Library Manager... I'm trying to figure out if my processor is up-to-date; the software requires Intel Core 2 Duo processor or better and I have 2.3 ghz intel core i5 processor.... any idea?

Jan 22, 2015 3:00 PM in response to fndoye69by Japib, core 2 duo are older (2007-2009) than i3/5/7 processors (2010+), so you've got no problem. The only problem you might experience is that the Library manager you will get will be the trial version, and some options may be disabled.
hope you get this solved.

Jan 22, 2015 3:09 PM in response to Japibby fndoye69,Why would it be the trial version? I plan to purchase for $30 if I choose Library Manager... other options are VLC player software or Perian. Do you know about those?
Thanks for your help.
