Jan 23, 2015 2:13 AM in response to cybergrapeby dominic23,Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, contact Apple.
Genius Bar reservation:
http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
Best.

Oct 21, 2015 4:03 AM in response to dominic23by pricecominc,Had a problem with loud fan that wouldn't turn off.
Tried resetting SMC and PRAM. No result.
Found out that if you go to the activity monitor and check the CPU useage, you can
see which app is sucking up the power. In my case it was a printer file that was running about 300 percent.
I deleted the file and the noise stopped, fan went back to normal.
applications>utilities>activity monitor chose the CPU tab.
to delete
Apple>system preferences> (in my case 'printers and faxes')

Jun 7, 2016 3:51 PM in response to dominic23by antunt01,I had this exact issue. Turned on laptop and the fan was running at full speed and the battery indicator was missing on the desktop bar. Also, the light on the battery charger did not light up. I did the SMC reset for non removable battery and it worked perfectly. Thank you for the helpful post!
