Q: Ethernet connected but no internet

Just had a new hard drive installed into my mac. restored time machine backup and all looks ok. then I can't connect to Internet.  I go to network and it says my Ethernet is connected & coloured green but still no internet. So I go into advanced & click Renew DHCP Lease go ok and still the Ethernet light is still connected and green but no internet. I have clicked assist me & done both diagnosis & assistant and still I get no answer. Please help!
