The steps detailed below can help resolve this issue.
Use these steps if you're currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime:
- Sign out of iMessage or FaceTime:
- iMessage: Tap Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
- FaceTime: Tap Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
- Sign back in to iMessage or FaceTime:
- iMessage: Tap Settings > Messages, then tap Use your Apple ID for iMessage.
- FaceTime: Tap Settings > FaceTime, then tap Use your Apple ID for FaceTime
Use these steps if you're not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime:
- iMessage: Tap Settings > Messages, then tap Use your Apple ID for iMessage.
- FaceTime: Tap Settings > FaceTime, then tap Use your Apple ID for FaceTime.
You should now be able to sign out of iCloud. You'll still see your previous Apple ID when signing out.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud

Jan 25, 2015 5:48 PM in response to Allen Aby Kriegnein,Sorry, but this reply neither solved my problem nor helped me. First problem is getting past the "Sign In to iCloud" popup asking for the password to my old Apple ID every 8 seconds, getting "beneath" it, getting it out of the way before it pops up again in even less than 8 seconds, so I can go to the iMessage or FaceTime settings on my iPad. When I can finally get past the popup, both iMessage and FaceTime require my old ID password, which I cannot remember!
Yes, I can use my current ID on my iPad, but I can't really do that because I still can't stop this blasted popup from keeping me from doing anything! Am I going to have to trash this Apple device and get an Android tablet?
