Q: Memory shortage

I have MB Air (mid2011) with 64 GB memory and experiencing memory shortage problem. When I checked what is eating memory, I saw that half of the memory used by the items under "other". How can I see details of others and clean that area.

Operating system is OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

First read this so that you understand what OTHER comprises:

You might consider downloading from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all of your files and the respective sizes and assist you in determining what data to delete or transfer to an external HDD.
