Q: Samsung printer CLX-3175 driver not available for Yosemite?

Samsung printer CLX-3175 doesn't work with OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.

Samsung support center says there is no driver for Version 10.10. available right now and they don't know yet whether there will be one developed for this version.

Does anyone come up with an idea?

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Try Reset Printing System, which forces OS X to re-index (ie, find) available drivers. Then Add the printer normally.

As far as I can tell, Samsung Has given Apple a current driver to keep on its servers. Read here about how we normally get drivers now (not downloading direct from the company):

(BTW the driver is called the CLX-3170 series driver)

Hi Greg,

Thank you for your reply. I had followed the instructions on the Apple Support sheet. The Software Update from the Apple menu led to no success, neither did the contacting of the manufacturer of my printer (Samsung), since Samsung said they wouldn't know whether a driver for this version will be still developed or not. After following the automatic installer on the Samsung website, that automatically installs the right updated drivers for your printer, I still get the below message of my printer: 'You need to install software to use this printer. To install the software, choose Software Update from the Apple menu. If the software for your printer isn’t available in Software Update, contact the manufacturer of your printer.'
So do they want me to buy a new printer now because the old driver only supports till OS X 10.9.?

Did you try Samsung Printer Drivers v2.6 for OS X?

I would remove the drivers you have installed from /Library/Printers/Samsung before installing the new drivers.
