infrared photography - any ideas?
anyone has any ideas on how to handle photographs taken with an infrared filter on my digital camera, from within iphoto or any other application for this?

"how to handle": how differently do you want to handle them from normal photos? if you want to modify the picture extensively, you'll need to get a Photography app such as Aperture, Photoshop Essentials, or other.
I found these Tutorials very useful: See the links below:
Aperture has a Infrared filter in the Adjustment panel > Effects menu: Black&White > Infrared.
It converts the Infrared photo into a black&White photo, using the right gradation curve for Infrared.

What version of iPhoto anode the OS? What exactly do you want to do with these?
As far as cataloguing and viewing they are no different than any other photo to iPhoto
