Q: Where is my sampler instrument ?

I used Logic 7 for ages. Now I´m using Logic X.

I tried open one of my Logic 7 songs and the box `... exs. file could not be found.´

The whole song is alright except the exs24 shows ´missing ...´ inst.

I tried to go through my old and new folders again and again.

Came to the conclusion that it must be because the sample was from the Logic7 factory samples...

YES - I have downloaded all the additional content in X.

Does the term ´Legacy´ in sampler inst. means ´older´ ?

In that case the legacy from Logic 7 is not anywhere.

How do I get these instruments back ? - I have more songs that need help with this problem

Is the old factory sounds available for download somewhere?

thanks a bunch!

I never had LP7 on this computer.

I used a G5 with LP7 for years. It became old and I bought this new MacMini and bought LPX from iTunes. I did not upgrade.

Maybe everybody else have this problem but dont see it because they dont know they are missing anything.

Could it be if you upgrade to LPX from earlier versions these samples stick with you

    - and if you buy LPX without upgrade they are simply not there in the package?

Most likely, they are not included with LPX at all.

Perhaps if you still have the G5 you can find all the appropriate missing files and copy them over to the new Mac?

Hi - thanks a lot for helping

I dont have my old computer anymore - that thing took a lot of space

So then I have only three options left I guess:

    1) To buy/get an older version of Logic

I think I might have the Logic7 installation cd somewhere - but can you actually just copy the aif. & exs. files even when it is the ´factory-samples´?

(I remember LP7 was also updated during its time and what if the sounds I`m looking for is in that update? I think it will turn into a mess trying to install LP7 on a new mac and update it - if its even possible..)

    2) Using the next 10 years searching the internet for this problem

    3) Get some friendly soul to email me the three sounds i´m missing

Assuming that you have an optical drive handy, you should be able to extract the relevant files from installer packages using "Pacifist". You could install them manually.

Another option would be to 'move on' from those few sounds, find alternatives etc?

Do you know what I´m actually missing?

I mean, I know I dont have these three sounds - but what else?

I tried finding the content of LP7 factory samples on the net but with no luck..

I have an older macbook pro where LP7 was once installed.

A few months ago I re-installed it with the installation cd and got yosemite and LPX.

You think I could find the three sound still on it somewhere?
