Q: Can I reset my mail settings to factory?  My ISP has really screwed this all up and tell me all I can do is start using a web source account like Thunderbird.

Open Mail's Preferences, click on Accounts in the toolbar. Select your account and click on the Delete [-] button to remove it. Then re-configure a new Mail account. You can only access a web mail account if your email provider has such an option available. You will need to find out from them how to access the web mail.
