Bluetooth device "does not have the necessary services".

I am trying to upload images from my iPad (4th Gen) to my Mac Mini using Air Drop. I have Bluetooth turned on for both devices (I have a BT keyboard and touchpad for the Mac Mini working well). When I try to pair the devices the iPad initially shows up on the Mac Mini, a paring code is generated, I accept the code on the iPad, they connect for about 1.5 seconds and then I get the message... "The device does not have the necessary services" and disconnects. I am running iOS 8 on the iPad and Yosemite on the Mac Mini. Both devices are up-to-date.

You do not need to Pair the devices for Airdrop. iOs devices will not pair to computers except for Personal Hotspot.

For AirDrop, you need to have bluetooth and Wifi on, and simply turn on Airdrop on each device. Pairing is not necessary.
