My computer is running soooooo slow!

I use both Safari and Chrome and in both OS everything runs slow. I can leave the room after closing out a program and to go to another room and back and maybe the program will be closed by then. I ran the etrecheck but I am not well versed in computer talk. I can however follow directions if there is anyone out there who could help. Here is the etrecheck report. Lots of red but that is just something to be "noticed". Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Removing Symantec software should help.

For the way you are using your computer, more RAM might help. The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a machine supposedly limited to 4 GB.
