No virus was installed nor is this possible.

The App Store is opened because of bad Ads on the website. The website may be unaware that this is happening. You can inform them and avoid the Website until they fix their problem.

I was going to advise clearing out the cookies etc from Safari but if you have reset the phone you should be fine

Did you restore from backup or is all the content on your phone "new" after the restore?

I doubt it was a virus It was most likely just a way to get you to buy one of their apps.

Jim has great advice - avoid that particular website - if you restored from well before this happened - you should be fine

Did you go back to the same site that caused the pop-up to appear in the first place? If so, don't do that. The site is bad or has been hacked, so avoid it.

The best solutions are always the simplest. If you have this problem (or anything like it) just delete the app from your phone, then re-install it. Works every time...

Unless, of course, the app in which you're getting the popup is Safari.
