As you might imagine, it is not possible to answer in a way that will be correct for all users.
The bottom line is that you won't know how well a product like this might work in your home until you try it out in your home.
It might help. Talk to your ISP to see if they have a trial period or money back / credit privilege if you don't feel that the service is worthwhile.
No reason to look at an Apple product for this application unless you already have another Apple router producing your wireless network. The Apple products will not work with a 3rd party manufacturer's product unless you plan to connect them permanently using a wired Ethernet cable connection.

Jan 24, 2015 8:55 PM in response to Bob Timmonsby joaniemac,I have talked to my ISP and what they have to offer sounds much like your suggestion--I didn't have this problem when I first got my hook-up, but they have added a lot of customers to the network since then. Every time I contact them for help--I end up paying another monthly service fee--I just wonder where the service went that I originally signed up for ??? Think I will give my own booster a try. Thanks for you response--it helped me make up my mind.
