Q: ipod shuffle not recognized by itunes

I have reset per the instructions of my 4th gen iPOD shuffle. Still when I connect to 3 different computers they do not do anything to recognize the iPOD shuffle nor does iTunes?

iPod shuffle, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
