We will be traveling to New Zealand, if I activate Do Not Disturb so that only Favorites calls are received will texting still work for all contacts?
yeah, the "do not disturb" is just a silent mode, so non-favorite calls will still show, but the phone will not emit sounds by doing so.

I have purchased an AT&T a passport package so communicaiton in general will be less costly but I do have some questions that you may be able to answer.
When I call within NZ can I do this directly using local area codes (not as an international call) or must I treat as an interantional call?
Will Airplane Mode allow me to receive texts?
Will turning Fetch New Data off limit email etc form flowing into my phone unless I trigger it manual?
