Find My Friends shows me as location services off, however, location services and share my location are on in privacy settings and icloud settings. Find My Friends share my location toggle appears to be on but is greyed out and not adjustable.

I cannot share my location in Find My Friends. Share location in the app appears on but greyed out. I do not have any restrictions set up, and location services and share my location are on in privacy settings and icloud. I have an iphone 5 and the operating system is 8.1.2

iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.2

The solution is to go into Settings->General->Restrictions. If you see a lock next to "Location Services" then enable restrictions, go to Location Services, and enable it, then go ahead and disable restrictions.

In the Settings app check Find My Friends specifically to make sure Location is on.

Settings > Privacy > scroll down to Find Friends > Allow location access while using the app.

I had the same problem. It looks like everything is switch don as it should be but if you go to Privacy>Location Services then scroll right to the bottom there's System Services. Go into there and activate Share My Location, it made mine magically start working.
