Q: iPhone 4 Message:SIM Required (in phone that has no SIM card slot)

I have a Verizon iPhone 4 (CDMA), model A1349, which has no SIM card.  It has never had a SIM card.  There is no place to put a SIM card in.  This is my phone and worked perfectly since I purchased it new.  I bought a new iPhone 6 for myself and want to put this phone on my son's phone line. We have spent hours with Verizon and they cannot help us.  When we try to do something with this phone we get the message: "SIM Required - Please insert a SIM card"   "Try Again."  Like I said  - there is no SIM card.  This model iPhone has no place to insert a SIM card.  We are completely and utterly at a loss.  Any idea how to get past this?  Thanks.

    hi there..

    i'm from Indonesia,

it happened to me too on my two iphone 4 cdma (verizon).. stuck on activation and SIM required

i'm getting this after reset all content and setting, and the other one after restore firmware, now both stuck on activation (SIM Required)

i already read this post from the beginning.. and i alse did chat with them (apple contact support).. and get the case ID, but they clearly stated cannot fix my issued remotely..

they suggest me to call my local apple support to get help directly.. but i believe they can't help me either.. like others who was through this.. they will said its hardware failure or something like that..

i'm waiting for the good news for this issued in this post

    thx.

Ok, I have read through all ten pages of this post, and resolved to go to the chat to fix my iphone 4 with this issue, since other people have had success that way, but I can't even get into a chat because I don't have the phone's id number and cant' get to it, now what do i do??

yyou can get the MEID number for your phone.   Turn the phone off (power it down)    Then turn it back on again.  Yu should get the "hello" screen in the setup wizard.  in the lower right corner of this screen is a blue information button.  Push that and the phone will display its MEID number.

    hope this helps

II'm new to the community I have the same problem my Verizon cdma iPhone 4 "with no SIM card slot or tray" since it don't require one has worked fine since I've had it so I upgraded and did a factory reset step by step from Apple and when I went to reactivate for my husband I can't get past activation because of the SIM card required try again message have been on the phone for hours with Verizon then Apple then Verizon and now goin to try Apple again and mention this thread there's something in the factory reset feature or activation that's causing this how else can a fully functioning phone go to a paper weight right after a factory reset so frustrated   let me try this again with my new knowledge of this thread on here thanks so much for everyone who has posted on here there's strength in numbers

Apple support can fix the problem and it shouldn't matter where you are.   It's important that you get the tech who answers your chat to hand you off to a senior supervisor who can then work with the engineers to readjust the profiles on your phones.  I hope this helps.

It's not a good idea to post your email in a public forum that has millions of viewers, some of them ethically challenged. Plus the automatic scanners that read through open forums looking for email addresses to add to spam lists. Remember that ASC is completely open; you do not have to subscribe to read the messages in the forums.

I've had the same problem with my white iPhone 4 cdma model. I have been through all the steps including restoring the phone ( turn off phone, then while iTunes is open connect phone to computer white holding home button). Calling Verizon and apple to no avail, then finally chatting with apple and specifically telling them my problem and referencing this thread. I talked to thee different people through chat, they said i would get an email with further information about the status of my problem. I'm optimistic  for now. I'll give it another day smh

@rosindabowVerizon does have a sim card, they do not know how to troubleshoot these kind of issues.  I would simply asked them about their mifi units in which it requires a sim card.  In addition, they have phones that requires a sim card.  If they don't know how to resolve they can easily reach out to tier 2 or 3 to see if they can get resolution.   Okay let forget about Verizon high prices to the public.   I would make an Apple appointment and meet with trained specialist. Hopefully they will be so kind and swap out a new unit.

Think of the embarrassment you could have saved yourself if you had actually READ some of the messages in this thread before posting nonsense. The subject at hand is the iPhone 4 CDMA model, which does not use a SIM card and does not have a SIM slot.

I've been checking back in and reading every so often. It's kind of funny, and sad, how many people don't bother to read the thread where the solution to the problem is clearly stated by many of us who have had the problem fixed.
