Q: Ipod Classic 160 Restore Failure

About a week ago  my Ipod stopped working and when I reset it the screen showed a flashing circle with a line through.

I plugged it in to my computer (Windows 7) and received a message to Restore my Ipod.

I updated ITunes to latest version

I started Restore received message "disc must be formatted

I clicked format and OK after warning

I disconnected Ipod from computer then re-connected

clicked Restore, I could hear Ipod working

I received a message "Your Ipod cannot be restored unknown error message 1439

I clicked more info

I followed instructions a several times with the same result

I purchased a new Ipod touch 64 which is to small to store all my music.

So now I want to try to restore the Classic.

Any help in this matter is much appreciated
