Q: syncing contacts on an old Nano in Yosemite

Hello,

I've a new iMac running Yosemite and have not been able to figure out how to sync contacts on an old iPod nano.

It's not an option in iTunes nor is there an obvious option in the address book. Any input is appreciated.

    Howdy tcb,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

If you'd like to put your contacts on to your iPod nano, then I'd like you to please follow the directions below.  Even though the article states it is for OS X Mavericks, the same steps apply to Yosemite.

    Contacts

Export the contacts as a vCard from Contacts application.

    1. Select all contacts, or just the contacts you want to have on the iPod.
    2. Select File > Export > Export vCard.
    3. Save the file to the desktop. This creates a vCard file.
    4. Connect your iPod to your computer using USB.
    5. Enable Disk Mode for your iPod in iTunes.
    6. Open your iPod in the Finder. It should appear in the sidebar of a new Finder window under devices.
    7. Open the Contacts folder on the iPod.
    8. Drag the vCard file you created into the Contacts folder.
    9. Eject the iPod.

I just want to make sure I am not missing something: If have Yosemite and a 4th generation iPod nano, it appears there is no more automatic syncing between the Mac and the nano. Even if the drag-to-iPod-disk works, if a change is made to the Mac's contacts, it will not be reflected automatically on the iPod. Are these assumptions correct?
