I am unable to log into FaceTime or iMessages. When I look at the Console I see this message continually being generated:

Anyone know what's going on? I've read other posts regarding the login issues with iMessage and FaceTime but there doesn't seem to be a clear fix.

Hi,

The Original Poster never answered the question as to whether there was any other sort of error Message.

The Messages app for the iMessage account needs the Apple ID, a password for the Apple ID itself or the 2 Step Verification App Specific one, AND the Serial Number to be able to generate the IDS: AppleID-AuthToken (in the Keychain Password section).

If the Mac User Account is migrated from another computer including the Keychain (and therefore references to the old Serial Number) then the iMessages server will block the apple ID when used from the Mac.

The Serial Number provides a device specific Login.

The Apple Push Service Daemon is used by the Messages app to Send and Receive but is not the cause of any ports not being open.

From the menu bar, select

 ▹ About This Mac

Below the "OS X" legend in the window that opens, the OS version appears. Click the version line twice to display the serial number. If the number is missing or invalid according to this web form, take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the problem corrected.

Hello.

Probably you have two step authentication switched on for your AppleID.

In that case you have to provide application specific password in Login dialog for iMessage instead of your regular AppleID password.

Use "Generate an app-specific password" feature which is available at appleid.apple.com site and then provide generated password into login box.

Actually, OS X should show you dialog which asks you to generate app specific password for "iMessage and FaceTime" right after you have clicked Login button, but sometimes it is not visible (or not displayed). So, maybe it will be better for you to try clicking Login button several times and discover is there confirmation dialog which asks you to generate app-specific password on some desktop...
