Q: iphone 5 bluetooth will not descover

My windows 8.1 dicsovers and shows my iPhone 5 but the phone makes no contact at all.

I have done the reset and forget device but still nothing. Just the spinning cog.

To put simply it is as though Bluetooth is not installed on the phone. Have done all the correct instructions in Settings

Your advice will be appreciated and followed.......Thank you.........Brian

The iPhone is not designed to connect to a Windows computer via Bluetooth, except to possibly tether via Personal Hotspot.

Chris.............Thank you so much for your reply, I now will not spend more time going 'around the world' on Google and similar.

Guess it is not such a big deal but this is my first iPhone and I have always used Bt on previous phones. Once again Chris thank you for your input.

There is Bluetooth on the phone, and it is used for connecting to any number of things, including headsets, speakers, vehicles, and others. You can use it to do some file work with a Mac computer as well. You just need to have Bluetooth on, not paired. If you want to take the time to look at the profiles that the iPhone's Bluetooth supports, take a look at this support document. iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles - Apple Support
