mainstage changes pitch randomly

I am using the following set up at Church - Yamaha S90, Roland 700, M-Audio Sound Card, Apple Mac Pro with Yosemite.

Last week the setup worked fine but this week, Mainstage randomly reset itself - defaulting to the first patch in the concert and changing the pitch up by a semi-tone. I connect the MAC to the Yamaha via USB MIDI and all the devices mentioned above are connected via MIDI. The only difference from last week to this week is that last week I swapped the Yamaha and Roland connections. Specifically, last week the MIDI set up was:

PC - Yamaha (USB)

Yamaha (OUT) to Roland (IN)

Roland (THRU) to M-Audio (IN)

This week:

PC - Yamaha (USB)

Roland (OUT) to Yamaha (IN)

Yamaha (THRU) to M-Audio (IN)

Could the problem be sue to the MIDI setup or is there a possible glitch with Mainstage?

The fact is that the second setup works up until Mainstage appears to change the pitch randomly.

Regardless of the order of the connection, make sure you connect the MIDI thru of the first keyboard to the MIDI in of the second keyboard, and not the MIDI out. But more than likely, there a patch in the Roland that is sending a transpose command and a program change #1 command. To make things simpler, use a separate USB MIDI cable for each keyboard. As an added benefit, you'll have 32 independent MIDI channels instead of 16.

Another thing that can cause unwanted events is a parameter in Mainstage's edit page>assignments and mappings. Scroll to the bottom of the page to all devices>channel 1>unassigned, then uncheck the send unassigned MIDI to all channel strips box.
