I have disabled all accounts and notifications, messages is still popping up.

Hello,

I have a macbook pro retina and an iphone 5s, both with updated OS.

I searched through half of google, and have followed all descriptions - I disabled all accounts in messages, and turned off all notifications in the system settings.

STILL - every time I get an imessage on my phone - the Messages app on my mac pops up and prompts me to log in! I can't see the actual message, but the phone number is visible, even though I logged out and disabled my apple-ID account and everything. There is obviously still a connection, and tbh it feels very intrusive and creepy that I can't control this.

Can someone please tell me how to _completely_ disconnect Messages from my phone/Apple account?

Hello KamilaLeo,

If I understand correctly you are still getting prompted to sign into iCloud whenever you get an iMessage in the Messages app even though you'ved turned it off anywhere you could in Settings. You did exactly what I would have done so if you are still getting them, use this article to de register iMessage on the phone.

Hello Sterling,

Thank you for your answer, but it didn't quite solve my problem.

I would still like to use iMessage on my iPhone. I just don't want my Macbook Pro to "know" or be connected to it at all.

This happens: If I pick up my phone and start writing/receive an iMessage, the icon suddenly shows up on my mac, even though i disabled all accounts on it. I don't know what further actions I can do to "disconnect" the two devices.
