I have two Mac Minis and would like to connect them together so that each Mac Mini can access the others hard drive. Do I simply connect them via Ethernet?

To confirm, if I was running music software (Ableton/Traktor/Maschine) on one Mac Mini with the hard drive dedicated to software and the other Mac Mini dedicated to audio storage; as long as the load/save destinations were correct in the software I can use the two Mac Minis?
Yes. If you do not want to use the "storage" compute as a coputer yo can boot that i Target disk mode and connect the two computer bu either Thunderbolt or FireWire. That way the internal drives of the "storage" Mac will show just like regular drives n the the other Mac.
The following apples to all OSX version but note that only newer computers have Thunderbolt.
