Q: Two fingerprints enrolled at once - a bug or a feature?

Hello

I was able to enroll two fingerprints at once - during the first finger enrollment process. When enrolling a fingerprint, simply swap evenly 2 fingers (thumb, index...). At the end of the process, the TouchID will recognize both fingers, assigned however to the only "Finger 1". In reality, the unique fingerprint is a mixture of the two...

Is that a bug or a feature?

The Touch ID remembers unique parts of your fingerprint. If you trick the system by swapping fingers, it will remember some of the unique parts from all the fingers used, so you probably can use both fingers.

The fact is that it is not that precise as when only one finger is used.

You may experience some cases that he will not recognize your fingerprint on the first try and you have to retry until it unlocks.

The best way to enrol two fingers is to do it separately.

You can enrol up to 5 fingerprints i believe.

The reason you should do them separately is because it would be more accurate than a mix.

Though i'd say it is more of a bug and it should probably be rejecting both fingers in theory.

TouchID looks for features that are there.

It doesn't look for features that are not there because there can be features that do not show up when scanning (different part of the print). That is why you have to do it multiple times. It looks at different parts of yrou print.
