Q: ProRes 4444 XQ

Hello -

Has anyone here utilized this new codec / setting on any projects?

If so, do you see any noticeable improvement in visual quality?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9), 2.7ghz, 16gb RAM, 512gb SSD

You will only have the image quality/fidelity that your camera originally recorded data for.  Changing codecs will never make your image a higher quality.  Now, if you need to move it between multiple applications for special effects work, color grading, etc, then one of the ProRes flavors will maintain the quality over multigenerational transcodes.  Unless you're shooting with one of the most high end digital film cameras like Arri or Red, 4x4XQ won't do you much good, and will only create unnecessarily large file sizes.
