Q: new wireless printer doesn't show up on my iphone

Just got a Epson WF-3640 but can't figure out why it can't be found on my iphone as an airprinter? The Epson app works but you can't print from all the apps with it like I used to with my old HP printer which just automatically seemed to link wirelessly with my iphone and I could print from everything on my phone. What's the deal?

iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.2

Did you configure the printer to have airprint enabled? what did Epson support say when you contacted them?

Check and see if your printer actually supports Airprint.

Does your printer show up on the list of AirPrint supported printers? About AirPrint - Apple Support

If not, then it does not support AirPrint like you old HP printer did. While you may be able to print with the Epson print app, you will only be able to do what it supports.
