How do I change the resolution on my apple TV without the apple remote?

I have lost my remote for my apple TV. This has been a horrible experience.

I have paired my Samsung TV remote to my apple tv, however, since plugging my apple tv into another tv which has a different resolution... now, bringing my device home, it will not connect to my TV because the resolution is different. There seems to be no way to change this externally, and no way to reset the device without the remote. Please help. 😟
