Q: iMessage don't send and receiver are "not registered"

On my MacBook Pro i have problems with the iMessage.

I did active with my Apple-ID Account and be connected without problems. But when i like to send a Message, i get the Error that the Receiver is no registered by iMessage.

Also i don't receive Messages on this MacBook.

It works on my iPhone5, iPhone4, iPad3, iMac in the office and iMac at home. But not on this MacBook.

It did work before till begin of January 2015.

In the Console i did find:

[Warning] Needs deletion: NO (Registration info (0x7ff63a7a8dc0): [Registered: NO] [Type: AppleID] [Device Name: (null)] [Service Type: iMessage] [Env: (null)] [Main ID: ....

What i can do ???

Did try to disconnect, also in my iPhone, reboot and so on, but all in vain

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

I had contact yesterday with the Apple Support, but could not solve yet the problem.

I Did try also to start with a other HD where i have also Yosemite but version 10.10.1, but the same problem mit iMessage ! It looks so, that my MacBook is blocked by Apple or somethings   Now i reinstall new the Yosemite and we will see what is after.

Well, in that case only a clean install would make a difference. However, it seems more likely this is an Yosemite/AppleID related issue. As soon as you add a second email to your ID, everything is back to "normal". But this is just a temporary workaround.

    Exactly.

What's funny for now, that Parallels VM with Yosemite 10.10.2 (clean install) works like a charm _with the same computer serial number_ (parallels use native serial to replicate it).

I sended logs with expert from level 2 to engineers. We will see in few days.

    Hi,

    That is the issue.

If the Mac > Contacts app is not syncing then for some reason the Messages app > iMessages account does not work.

From when it was iChat it could have issues if the My Card (Contacts App or Address Book > Card Menu > Show My Card) is blank or shows the wrong details.  I don't know how it knows it is the wrong details but it does.

In System Preferences > iCloud do you have it set to sync the Contacts ?

Is it set on your iPhone as well.

If this Mac user account worked in iMessages before do you use Time Machine as I would use this to Restore the Contacts app.

I have the same exact problem. Contacts app works fine, it sync between my Macbook Pro and my iPhone 6. Handoff stopped to work too.

I tried everything, clear the cache, remove preferences and other related files to Messages.app, I removed related items on Keychain. Nothing worked.

The problem started after 10.10.2 update. My iPad (wifi only) works just fine. My girlfriend has the same problem, we have the same carrier (Blau.de in Germany) on our iPhones, not sure if it's related to the problem. I opened a bug, I will keep you updated if they respond.

Today i did boot my MacBook in the morning and iMessage did work. I don't know why. Yesterday it was still unable to use.

I think the reinstall of Yosemite and connect into a other Network (at home now) did solve it.

Although... too fast. Yes, it seems like I can send messages since this morning. It shows they have been delivered.

However, I only receive messages on my iPhone after all. Additionally, the messages sent via OSX are not being synced with the iOS devices.

hmm, ok, after several days of not working, iMessage on my iMac is now working.  This includes Text message forwarding (inc making phone calls from iMac) from my iphone. I did have to disable/enable iMessage in iphone settings to get it detecting the iMac for txt fowarding and calls. It also needed all my devices approved again.

Hope it has suddenly started working for the rest you!
