Q: how to boot to windows while on the mac side

i installed windows 8.1 on maverick 10.9.5. is there a short cut key to boot to windows' side?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), dual boot

Restart with the Option key held down and click on the Windows system. If you want to run both OSes at once, you need to use a product such as VirtualBox, Parallels Desktop, or VMware Fusion.
