May 26, 2016 1:40 PM in response to williamfromtorranceby Mr. Mellow,I'm bumping this because I have the same basic problem (device recognized in iTunes but unable to sync). @williamfromtorrance, did you find a solution for this? Even if you have, can you elaborate on your original post (iTunes/OS X versions, more details on what steps you took before and after trying to sync, etc.)?
I already started a thread on this for my issue, so I won't hijack yours, but I will say that after scouring the web for a solution, I've found that it is an extremely rare problem (compared to the more common problem of iTunes not recognizing a device at all). I've tried every bit of advice I've gotten, and so far I've stumped Apple Support and the Apple store techs. Both came to the same final advice: wipe the MacBook (the Nano is working properly), restore Yosemite only, try again – if the problem persists, send the MacBook in. I haven't done this yet because I'd like to avoid nuking things as long as I can. I'll do it if I absolutly cannot solve the problem any other way.
