Verify logic board replacement

I have just left my Macbook to be repaired by an authorized service tech. The fan's bearings went and it had the notorious whine. He wanted to replaced the fan and then see replace the logic board if the whine was still there.

After a few minutes of discussion, I firmly requested to replace the logic board as well.

The work order states:

right hand side fan is making noise and buzzing sound. I wanted him to add the logic board replacement but he insisted the buzzing sound meant he would do that. He would order both parts for me.

Do you guys know of a way I can verify that he did indeed replace the logic board? I don't want to leave my laptop there for longer than I have to or send it in a second time.

Thanks

Macbook Pro  Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I do have a build with the 10.4.5 disks. Is this always the case that they give updated disks?

The new serial won't help because I dont know my old one, unfortunately.

I will ask for a complete work order. It really sounded like the guy was just telling me he was going to replace it to get me out of the door. He "caved" far too quickly.

I will have faith, but if he lied to me, I will be on the phone with Apple asking why their techs blatantly lie to their valued customers, though I shouldn't assign guilt till he is in fact guilty.

Thanks for your help Peter.
