ipod wont turn on

i put my iPod on the charger last night. and when i woke up it was off of the charger but i said fully charged. i put it back on until i got from school and when i got back it still want on. i put it on iTunes but it wouldn't recognize it. this has happened before and i left it on the charger for almost a whole day (24 hours) but im tired of waiting.. an my home button doesnt work what should i do. it would be great if some one could help.

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
