Shared iCloud pictures started to arrive and iPhoto quit unexpectedly! Re opened without any issues but no photos are arriving. They are on my iPhone with no issues? This appears to be a Yosemite issue any ideas

Just updated to 10.10.2 no change!

Thanks Larry, not sure what you mean re "instant process". It is now morning here and no change!
"not an instant process" - means it takes some time, it does not happen instantly - there is no specification on how quickly it happens - that depends on many things including the existence of WiFi, speed of WiFi and lot of other things

Are these Sharted Photo Streams or the My Photo Stream. Try the following:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Stream preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. See if that will jump start the Shared Photo Streams.
Thanks for the input. While my system doesn't appear like your screen shots I have just done as you asked and I now know what Larry meant by it not being an instant process. It took a while but all my pictures and the new ones are there. Thanks again. For whatever reason when upgrading to Yosemite you need to re enable your photo sharing>
