Jan 27, 2015 8:07 PM in response to Allan Eckertby sarafromreston,Aperture 3.6 is a paid upgrade that's the same price I paid for the program and I hear it's less good. New OS won't run Aperture 3.4.

Jan 27, 2015 8:16 PM in response to sarafromrestonby Kappy,★HelpfulI think you misunderstood that article. Aperture 3 is a paid upgrade from Aperture 2 or 1. But if you already have an earlier version of Aperture 3, then the update is free.
If you go to your Purchases page in the App Store and re-download Aperture 3 then you should get the current version. If you click on the Upgrades link in the App Store, then the update may appear there. And, if you go to the Aperture listing in App Store, then instead of a Purchase button you should see a Get button which means the download is free.

Jan 28, 2015 1:46 PM in response to Kappyby sarafromreston,YES! Thank you so much.
I may be the only one to have made this mistake but it would have been helpful if Apple had included this information instead of the message "Program not supported in OS X" when trying to open Aperture. Also, why didn't it come up as just an Apple app/program update?
Cheers!

The AppStore would probably have been showing as an update, if you had already been running Aperture 3.5.1. That Aperture version has been able to associate an Aperture licence for Aperture 3 versions, that have been bought before the AppStore was released, with your Apple ID at the AppStore. And then the update would have shown.
It helps to keep up-to-date with updates when dealing with the appStore.
