reset password completed through single user, now after turning on and load screen comes up it turns itself off again

I forgot my initial log in password. I reset the password using the command key, while holding down s' - followed all prompts, changed password, turned the computer back on and after a while of having the white screen, apple logo and loading panel down the bottom, it just turns off.

Every time I turn back on it does the same thing, loads for a little while, then turns off.

My computer only works right now when they charge is plugged in, could this be the reason it wont turn completely on again?
