Jan 28, 2015 9:56 AM in response to ChipH3by ChipH3,Thank you for helping me. I reset the SMC and the NVRAM. Everything remained the same.
I switched the HDMI connection on Monitor 2 to Monitor 1 and the DVI D2 connection on Monitor 1 to Monitor 2. No change.
When I go to System Preferences - Display I have the following options:
Monitor (1) connected by DVI
Resolution scaled: 1. 1080p 2. 1080i 3. 720p 4. 1600x900
Monitor (2) connected by HDMI
Resolution scaled: 1. 1600x1200 2. 1280x960 3. 1084x768

Jan 28, 2015 10:05 AM in response to ChipH3by lllaass,1. How is the Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter different from the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter?
The Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter works best with displays that operate at dual-link resolutions, which are resolutions above 1920 x 1200. For displays that do not support dual-link DVI resolutions (displays that operate at resolutions of 1920 x 1200 or lower) you should use the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter instead.

Which resolutions are supported on Macs using HDMI?
The HDMI port supports up to 1080p on HDMI connections. With the HDMI to DVI adapter, the HDMI port will work with resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. Mac Pro (Late 2013), MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013 and later), iMac (27-inch, Late 2013 and later), and Mac mini (Late 2014) also support 4k Displays.

Jan 28, 2015 10:09 AM in response to lllaassby ChipH3,The 1080p resolution works fine for me, if I can get the other monitor to match that resolution. I have had this setup for a couple of years without any issue until this week, but for some reason one monitor now has a different resolution and the options I have for resetting it don't match.
