external drive how to use DVD

Latest OS on MacBook Air. When I connect the external drive and I want to

watch an exercise DVD I have used before, I can't find the part of the DVD I want to watch.

Also, now when I want to eject the DVD from the drive, I cannot find this option under Finder.

So the DVD is now stuck in the external drive, and I can't use it at all.

Help!!!
