Jan 28, 2015 9:37 AM in response to udaykiran28by LarryHN,That would be a question for an Adobe forum or the Mac Forum for your OS
Note that .cr2 tells nothing as each and every camera has different RAW formats and each must be individually supported - If you were using iphoto or Aperture this tells what camera's are supported - OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support
Can you open them using Preview?

Jan 28, 2015 9:37 AM in response to udaykiran28by Old Toad,Adobe's Photoshop application require Java to be installed before it will open in Yosemite. Download and install the Apple legacy Java: Java for OS X 2014-001. That should let you run CS6 with Yosemite. I had to do the same for CS3.

Jan 29, 2015 9:09 AM in response to LarryHNby udaykiran28,Thank you Larry.. Yes, I do not have any problem when opening with iPhoto. Only thing which bothers me is why it doesn't open when trying to "preview" it, it says the RAW format you are trying to open is not supported. Is there any specific reason?

Jan 29, 2015 9:20 AM in response to udaykiran28by LarryHN,Exactly how are you trying to "preview" the image and we need the exact error message and the make and model of caera to help
And note that this is the iphoto for Mac forum - It appears that you do not have a problem with iPhoto - Is that correct?

Jan 30, 2015 8:07 PM in response to LarryHNby udaykiran28,I'm doing a right click on the image-> Open with -> click Preview to open. The camera make is EOS 7D mark ii. The message I receive is "Preview doesn't support this RAW format".
I have installed Camera RAW 8.7 and it opens in CS6. However, I need to open each image to see if its a good or not in CS6 which is a pain. Hence, it would be easier for me if the images are viewable all at once and can open them in Mac so that I can decide which ones to delete and keep. Is there anything else I can do in this regard?
Thanks.

How are you "opening" in iPhoto? Simply browsing the photos in iPhoto will may be using use the embedded preview images. Can you edit your photos in iPhoto or export them using "File > Export"? Only if you can export a photo or edit it in iPhoto using iPhoto's editor, you can be sure, that the the RAW support for your camera is properly installed.
Your camera needs this RAW compatibility update to be installed -see this link: Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 6.01
Have you installed all recent RAW compatibility updates? And for the applications to find the installed RAW support it needs to be registered with the Launch Service database using the lsregister command. This database keeps a list of supported media formats. Sometimes this list will be outdated and recent entries missing.
In that case it can help either to reinstall the RAW support, see this post:
Re: Digital Camera Raw Compatibility 6.02 - Nikon D800
Or to run register it manually by running the lsregister command from the Terminal:

Feb 8, 2015 4:34 AM in response to léonieby udaykiran28,Hi Leonie,
That was very helpful. It resolved my problem. I can open RAW files via preview after installing Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 6.01. Thank you very much. However, one more question.. currently I'm opening individual image to view.. how can I view/move from one photo to another, is there any key for that? I tried to use left and right arrows but didn't work.
Thanks,
Uday

In which view have you been trying to switch between photos? In Photos View, or while browsing an event or an album, with the photo enlarged in the edit pane, the left and right arrows should work, just like in a slideshow. For me, the left and right arrows are working, when I can see the film strip at the bottom of the window.

Feb 8, 2015 5:20 AM in response to léonieby udaykiran28,Not in iPhoto, but in Preview.
Here is what I'm trying to do.. I have a set of images in the finder and I had opened up an image via Preview (right click -> open with Preview) and would like to view next image by using right or left arrow but it doesn't move. Instead, I have to right click on every image and open it (via Preview).

Feb 8, 2015 5:33 AM in response to udaykiran28by léonie,You can select several images in the same folder at once, and then right-click the selection. That will open the images all together in one Preview window, with the individual images as thumbnails in the sidebar.
Then you can step the images by clicking the thumbnails or using the arrow keys. Look for the shortcuts in Preview's "Go" menu.
