Q: Organizer give permission to minor.

I have family sharing set up, so that my minor son needs to ask permission to buy an application. The ask goes to my wife, who is part of the family. I would like it to got my phone so I can approve since I am usually the one saying that he can. I tried unchecking the parent/guardian box in her profile, but it still would not go to me for permission.

    Hello Jsensenig,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you have enabled Ask to Buy for your son in Family Sharing and when he requests to make a purchase, the request is sent to your wife; you would like the request to be sent to you. It sounds like your wife is the organizer of your Family Sharing group. When Ask to Buy is enabled, the request is sent to the organizer only.

Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy - Apple Support

Ask to Buy is a feature of Family Sharing, and the family organizer can turn on Ask to Buy for any family member who isn't an adult. When a family member initiates a new purchase or free download, a request is sent to the organizer if Ask to Buy is on. For example, this could be a request for items in the iTunes, iBooks, or App Store, In-App Purchases, iCloud storage, or Newsstand subscriptions.

The organizer can review the item and make the purchase or decline the request right from their own iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8 or Mac with OS X Yosemite. If the family organizer makes the purchase, the content will download automatically to their family member’s device. If it's declined, no purchase or download will take place.

    Cheers,

    Joe
