The latest version of iTunes does not work on my windows 7 PC. Every time I open the program it freezes. Help please!

Ever since I updated the latest version of iTunes my windows 7 computer has had issues running it. Every time I open iTunes it freezes or takes an extreme amount of time to get going. I finally broke down and uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes, but still have the same problem. This is absolutely annoying, never had iTunes act like this in the past. Please help. Thank you!

Try working through TS1717: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues to start with.



Otherwise, for general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.


The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.


Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
