Q: Macbook suddenly goes black and mute, have to close it and open it back up for image and sound to work again

My Macbook white suddenly goes black (and all sound stops) but keeps running. I can hear the fans working still, and the little white light is still on. If I close it until it goes to sleep and then open it again everything goes back to normal, image and sound exactly how they were before going black. Seems to happen mostly when I'm watching a video on youtube o using flash for something else. It MAY have something to do with overheating? I noticed it was always kind of hot when it happened, but I don't really know. Everything else seems to be working fine. Please help!

    Hey espirituespirituespiritu,

Sorry to hear you are having these issues with your MacBook. If you have concerns that it may be overheating during use, you may find the information and steps in the following article helpful. In particular, make sure you are following this portion:

    1. Set up your notebook on a stable work surface that allows for adequate air circulation under and around the computer. Do not operate your notebook on a pillow or other soft material, as the material can block the airflow vents. Never place anything over the keyboard when operating the computer. Never push objects into the ventilation openings.
