Jan 29, 2015 10:01 AM in response to Allan Jonesby dwdrums31,No, and I am aware of that activity. I took a chance on ebay from a good seller. The battery was well packaged and clipped to a plastic guard that looked authentic and consistent with Apple quality. All markings indicate genuine, but as I mentioned, I'm not a power expert. Can the serial number be verified? It's approaching 90 min at 48%
Would running Apple Diagnostics "Intel-based Macs: Using Apple Hardware Test" reveal authenticity? Using Apple Diagnostics - Apple Support Regardless, I am becoming more comfortable with the performance of this battery.

Purchased 3rd party from a good seller, the battery was clipped to a well designed and fitted plastic guard inside a clear plastic wrap with an adhesive seal inside a black slide box that looks authentic and consistent with Apple quality packaging. All markings indicate genuine, but I've not seen a fake one to compare. Can the serial number be verified, or would running Apple Diagnostics "Intel-based Macs: Using Apple Hardware Test" reveal authenticity? Using Apple Diagnostics - Apple Support Regardless, I am becoming more comfortable with the performance of this battery:)
