wifi problem with yosemite 10.10.2

i still have wifi problem with yosemite 10.10.2. I use D-link Dir615. My ipad and iphone have no problem with this route. My Laptop ( rmpb 2013 early 15 inch ) has no problem with another router TP-Link. I'm just confused why it works so badly with my D-Link!!!!!

After several SMC resets and seems didn't work.

However after a night shut-down, with shutting down the router, and turning router and starting the MacBook on again this morning, it seems the Wifi works again with 10.10.2.✅🙂

However it seems strange, but maybe it be a Wifi Fix for others to try? 😕

Good luck and hope that next releases/upgrade of Apple work smoother..

@lkrupp. If you are still in denial of the persistent Yosemite Wifi problem, you are blind or just, well... For the record, I have a Windows VM machine that connects perfectly using Wifi bridge mode, while Yosemite keeps dropping connections and is unbearably slow. However, I don't think that any rational reasoning will appeal to you, given your track record of stubbornly refusing to acknowledge any problems with Apple products.

I have problems too, it started just a couple of days ago, and it has been made worse since the update. I can tell you it is nothing to do with the routers, as it happens both in the office and at hope. My wifi suddenly cuts out, I click on the wifi icon and it no longer responds. I usually have to reboot twice before it works again. Quite frustrating.

Hey.

I just updated my Mid 2012 Retina Macbook Pro this morning to 10.10.2. As many others mentioned, WiFi stopped working on this Mac, but kept working fine on my iPhone 6 Plus and other Macs not running the latest update. Note, I have a Linksys E3200 router running both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz. My Bluetooth was also turned on. I tried the SMC reset twice with no luck.

What did fix the problem was setting a manual IP address to another available IP on the Wi-Fi network. This is done by the following steps:

1. System Preferences -> Network -> WiFi -> Advanced -> TCP/IP

2. Under the first Drop Down Box labeled "Configure IPv4", set it to "Using DHCP with Manual Address".

3. My IPv4 address was set to 192.168.1.107. I changed it to 192.168.1.120 and Wi-Fi started working.

If you are trying this, make sure you know what available IP range is available and which IPs are available. This information is available on your router home page (192.168.1.1). Also, not all IP address are 192.168.1.* it may be be like 10.10.1.1. You will need to confirm this on your router.

Hope this works for you guys.

It's interesting, I was just realizing that my internet connection @ the library was working (no drops anymore) and I realized I had happened to turn off BT accidentally after reading your post.

I'll read what BT Pan is before deleting it. I don't really need BT since my Keyboard/Mouse are wireless ones.

Thanks!

Wifi Issues NOT fixed with Yosemite 10.10.2. I never had any problems with Maverick. Now every couple of minutes I have to

turn WiFi OFF and then back ON just to have one or two minutes of Internet. Same as Yosemite 10.10 and Yosemite 10.10.1.

A company thats worth half trillion dollars, its a shame and disgrace to come up with 2 updates and still problem persists

Same issue here. Bought my first Mac 2 weeks ago for £2000 and I can't connect to the same WiFi as my £50 devices for longer than 5 minutes. There was no problem until yesterday when I updated some things. Also, this doesn't happen to all types of Wifi networks, I use 3 different ones in different places.

I'm seeing a few users saying that if all other devices can connect but the Mac can't, it's not necessarily a problem with the Mac and could be the router anyway. You're wrong.

I did a clean install of Yosemite on my Mid-2012 MBP, still the same problem, the wifi slows down to crawl or fully stops several times each minute. It is consistently happening and not random.

Here are ping stats to my router:

440 packets transmitted, 440 packets received, 0.0% packet loss

round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 2.028/11.861/1006.050/53.963 ms

A std dev. of 53 ms for an avg round trip of 11 ms itself tells the story!
